Another popular song from the Mongolian Revolution. Still used as a military march in modern-day Mongolia without lyrics under the name "The Banner March" (Тугийн Марш). Performer: Song And Dance Ensemble Of The Mongolian People's Army (Монголын Ардын Армийн Дуу Бужгийн Чуулга) Year recorded: 1981 Year composed: 1921 Source: Vinyl Record "Монголын Ардын Армийн Дуу Бужгийн Чуулга" Picture: Various...

Unlike the Mongol Internationale, this is actually the original Internationale in Mongolian. There is a recording of the Internationale in Mongolian here on YouTube, but it's a modern recording and it skips out halfway through the verses. However, I managed to get a hold of a record from the 50s with the full thing. It's an old record and my equipment isn't exactly the best, so the quality is a bit lacking. However, I hope you all enjoy this special piece of history.

2021 marks the 100th anniversary of the Mongolian People's Revolution. This is one of three popular songs of the Revolution, along with "The Red Banner" and "Banner of Revolution", which I have uploaded previously. It sings of the events of the Battle of Fort Kyakhta, the most important battle of the Revolution against Beiyang forces which led to a decisive victory for the Mongolian revolutionaries. The taking of the fortress and the four machine guns used in the battle...

From a record of Mongolian People's Army songs. Translation note: "We Are the Defenders of Socialism" is the official English name of this song. However, a more accurate translation would be something along the lines of "Us Defenders of Socialism". Performer: Song And Dance Ensemble Of The Mongolian People's Army (Монголын Ардын Армийн Дуу Бужгийн Чуулга) Year recorded: 1984 Composer: Pürevjavyn Khayankhyarvaa (Пүрэвжавын...

The Internationale as performed in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China. Differs from the standard version used in the Mongolian People's Republic and modern Mongolia, being more heavily based on the Mandarin Chinese version. The title of the Inner Mongolian version also more closely mirrors that of the Chinese version, literally being "The International Song" ("Интернационалийн Дуу"), while the version in Mongolia follows...

After all these years, the Mongol Internationale has finally been uncovered, even if it's just a short version. For those who don't know, this was the first anthem of the Mongolian People's Republic. When the revolutions after the First World War came to a close, the communists only managed to gain power in three countries: Russia, Tuva, and Mongolia. When Russia united with three other republics, the Soviet Union was formed and adopted the Internationale as its anthem. Tuva and Mongolia made...

One of three popular songs from the Mongolian Revolution. Will post the other two soon. Translation note: "Banner of Revolution" is the official English name of this song. A song about the great Mongolian revolutionary Damdin Sükhbaatar. There are a couple references in this song that might need some explaining. Fort Kyakhta was the site of a major battle between Mongolian partisans and Chinese forces, resulting in a decisive victory for the Mongolians. The part with the whip and letter refers to Sükhbaatar's mission to smuggle a letter from the Bogd Khan through Chinese checkpoints. To do this, he hollowed out the handle of his whip and hid the letter inside....

The East Is Red - one of China's most well-known revolutionary songs - in the Mongolian language. Something interesting to note is how many of the words are derived from Mandarin terms, such as "Zünkhuva" from "Zhōnghuá" (China), "Züshi" from "Zhǔxí" (Chairman), and "Güntsenden" from "Gòngchǎndǎng" (Communist Party). Digitised by me from a small red flexi-disc containing The Internationale on one side and The East Is Red on...

The record this came from was pretty damaged at the beginning. I did what I could, but it still has some bad clicking for the first 20 seconds or so of the song. There is a version of the Mongolian anthem that has been passed around for some time which is claimed to be the original 1950 version of the anthem. However, this claim is false. From 1991 to 2006, Mongolia restored the original version of the anthem, but without the middle verse which praises Lenin, Stalin, Sükhbaatar, and Choibalsan. The recording commonly passed off as the 1950 version is actually from this period, which followed the end of the Mongolian People's Republic. That said, here...
