DESCRIPTION
The goal of the University of Florida's Retrospective Dissertation Scanning project is to build a digital collection of approximately 8,000 dissertations written by PhD graduates of the University of Florida from 1934-2006. This page is the portal to the UF dissertations scanned and made available via the Internet Archive up to this point.

In 2000 the University of Florida began requiring theses and dissertations in a digital format, and by 2006 all thesis and dissertations being submitted by students in pursuit of Masters and Doctorate degrees were digital. However, dissertations submitted between 1934 and 2000, and some submitted between 2000 and 2006, were available only in an original print or microfilm format. In 2007 George A. Smathers Library staff began to contact authors and copyright holders of dissertations by PhD graduates to get permission to digitize the work and make it available online. The projects ultimate goal is to enable clear and timely access to the scholarship of the University of Florida, by making all UF dissertations available electronically regardless of original format.

If you wrote a dissertation for the University of Florida between 1934 and 2006 and would like it digitized and made available on the Internet at no cost to you, please fill out, sign and send in the Internet Distribution Consent Agreement located at http://www.uflib.ufl.edu/digital/procedures/copyright/retro_diss_scan/DDDCA.htm.
