NASA's Kennedy Space Center and Lockheed Martin Corp. hosted a ceremony on Jan. 26 to mark the completion of renovations to the historic Operations and Checkout Building high bay for use by the Constellation Program. Originally built to process space vehicles in the Apollo era, the building will serve as the final assembly facility for the Orion crew exploration vehicle.

The equipment and hardware that will be used in space shuttle Atlantis' upcoming mission to NASA's Hubble Space Telescope was loaded into the shuttle's payload bay at Kennedy Space Center's Launch Pad 39A in Florida on Sept. 25. During its 11-day mission designated STS-125, Atlantis' seven astronauts will install two new instruments in Hubble, as well as replace the Fine Guidance Sensor. Atlantis is targeted to launch Oct. 14.
