The parking lot near Building 1202 became a wading pool for this ROME truck as a result of flooding from the past week's monsoon. In some areas, even the water was underwater. Langley researchers have been testing the Boeing Aerodynamic Efficiency Improvement Joined Wing Wind Tunnel Model in the Transonic Dynamics Tunnel. They're working with the Air Force Research Laboratory to develop technologies for future high-altitude, long-endurance unmanned aircraft. The Orion Launch Abort System, or LAS, pathfinder returned home to NASA Langley on Monday for a short stay as it makes its way to NASA's Kennedy Space Center. Engineers performed a series of tests in the 20-ft. Vertical Spin Tunnel recently that measured the aerodynamics of a 6.25 percent model of the Orion crew module with deployed drogue parachutes.
