Virginia Aerospace Science and Technology Scholars (VASTS) Catherine Breen and Jordan Schafer study a model of the planet Mars. The scholars, who worked on a team tasked with planning a mission to Mars, were two of 48 students selected to take part in a weeklong academy held at NASA Langley June 26-July 2. Jim Dimascio demonstrates the Virtusphere inside the Reid Center as Ray Latypov looks on. The Virtusphere is a locomotion platform that allows users to be completely immersed into their interactive virtual experience.
