Hi, I have a question about the Encyclopaedia Britannica Films on here. Was it very rare for the films produced in the 1950s to have their copyright renewed? The reason I ask is that I have found the ones kept in the Prelinger archive to be a great resource for my film editing projects. Here, it is made clear that they are PD. However there are many other Britannica Films of that same era spread out across the archive which do not give you any idea of their copyright status. I’d love to use clips from these as well, so if any of you can help it would be most appreciated, thanks.
