A system of custom cell building blocks utilizing scaleable CMOS technology is decribed. The cells are design to support the high speed, pipelined addition, subtraction, and multiplication operations neccessary in a cyclic spectral analyser or other applications involving the FFT. The cells are structured in such a manner as to permit a designer to tailor the bit-length of the operations and the number of pipline stages used. Both fixed and floating operations are supported by the system. The...

In 5G technology for enhancing the high speed data process the Filter Bank Multicarrier (FBMC), Universal Filtered multicarrier (UFMC), and Generalized Frequency Division Multiplexing (GFDM) techniques are used in effective manner. The FIR filter plays an important role in 5G mobile communication technology. In this paper, the hardware complexity reduced by using the FIR filter. In previous technique, 73 multipliers are required to the filtering process. Here to reduce the number of multipliers...

This work presents a new approach to find the exact solutions for the free vibration analysis of a beam based on the Timoshenko type with different boundary conditions. The solutions are obtained by the method of Lagrange multipliers in which the free vibration problem is posed as a constrained variational problem. The Legendre orthogonal polynomials are used as the beam eigenfunctions. Natural frequencies and mode shapes of various Timoshenko beams are presented to demonstrate the efficiency...

The Campaign submodel of the Air Defense Air-to-Ground Engagement (ADAGE) model was modified to evaluate the relative merits of six target allocation schemes. These schemes included fixed, proportional, and Lagrange Multiplier procedures. The study examined the expected fraction of a target array remaining at preselected points in the simulation. Model output was provided for each allocation scheme simulated under different offense to defense ratios, aircraft attack profiles, and target...

An analysis is made of current Single Supply Support Control Point procedures for developing a Repair Material Requirements List. The objective is to minimize the expected cost of stockouts over all line items subject to a budget constraint. Static Marginal Analysis and Generalized Lagrange Multipliers are utilized in the generation of a revised Repair Material Requirements List. The revised and the present generation techniques are compared by the use of a simulation of a R3350 aircraft engine...

The efficiency of the Schottky diode multiplier can be increased by cooling the diode to 77 K. The main reason for better efficiency is the increased mobility of the free carriers. Because of that the series resistance decreases and a few dB higher efficiency can be expected at low input power levels. At high output frequencies and at high power levels, the current saturation decreases the efficiency of the multiplication. When the diode is cooled the maximum current of the diode increases and...

Multiplier units of the modified Booth decoder and carry-save adder/full adder combination are used to implement a pipeline active filter wherein pixel data is processed sequentially, and each pixel need only be accessed once and multiplied by a predetermined number of weights simultaneously, one multiplier unit for each weight. Each multiplier unit uses only one row of carry-save adders, and the results are shifted to less significant multiplier positions and one row of full adders to add the...

The feasibility of combustion gas temperature measurements in the SSME fuel preburner using nonintrusive optical diagnostics was investigated. Temperature profiles are desired in the high pressure, hydrogen-rich preburner stream to evaluate designs to alleviate thermal stressing of the fuel pump turbine blades. Considering the preburner operating conditions and optical access restrictions, a spontaneous Raman backscattering system, implemented with optical fibers to couple to the combustion...

Oil was used to visualize inflight aerodynamic characteristics such as boundary layer transition, shock wave location, regions of separated flow, and surface flow direction. The technique, which is similar to wind tunnel oil-flow testing, involves an oil mixture to test aircraft before takeoff. After takeoff, the airplane climbs immediately to the test altitude and photographs are taken. The developmental experience is summarized, several examples of inflight oil-flow photographs are presented...

Lifted Double and Triple flames are established in the UIC-NASA Partially Premixed microgravity rig. The flames examined in this paper are established above a coannular burner because its axisymmetric geometry allows for future implementation of other non-intrusive optical diagnostic techniques easily. Both burner-attached stable flames and lifted flames are established at normal and microgravity conditions in the drop tower facility.

Infinite impulse response (IIR) filter designs mainly aims on either low area-cost or high speed or reduced power consumption. Infinite Impulse Response filters are the most important element in signal processing and communication. IIR filters can achieve a given filtering characteristic using less memory and calculations than a similar FIR filter. Multipliers are the basic building block in DSP, microprocessors and other applications. The system's performance is entirely dependent upon the...

X-ray microdiffraction is a non-destructive technique that allows for depth-resolved, strain measurements with sub-micron spatial resolution. These capabilities make this technique promising for understanding the mechanical properties of MicroElectroMechanical Systems (MEMS). This investigation examined the local strain induced by irradiating a polycrystalline diamond thin film with a dose of 2x10(exp 17) H()per square centimeter protons. Preliminary results indicate that a measurable strain,...

Recent experiments using scanning tunneling microscopy show evidence for the formation of surface alloys of otherwise immiscible metals. Such is the case for Au deposited in Ni(110), where experiments by Pleth Nielsen el al.indicate that at low Au coverage (less than 0. 5 ML), Au atoms replace Ni atoms in the surface layer forming a surface alloy while the Ni atoms form islands on the surface. In this paper, we present results of a theoretical modeling of this phenomenon using the recently...
